1. Hidden River Cave
How cool is it to be able to take your dog with you on a cave tour right in the middle of the small town of Horse Cave? The Hidden River cave tour is a 45-minute tour that will be a great adventure to share with your pet. You can also bring your pooch with you as you tour the American Cave Museum’s exhibits. Check out their Doggy Corner for a neckerchief and a cute gift!
Adjacent to Hidden River Cave is the Maple Avenue Park where there is a 1/3 mile walking trail, shady benches, picnic tables, and a picnic shelter. Grab some takeout at one of the locally-owned restaurants and have yourself a picnic in the park with your pet.

2. Canoeing
You can take your dog with you on your canoe trip down Green River, Kentucky’s longest river. You can pass the gorgeous 300 Springs waterfall along the paddle from Lynn Camp Launch. They provide access, canoes, kayaks, equipment, and livery service for your vehicle.
You can also contact Big Buffalo Crossing Canoe & Kayak to arrange one of several tour options..

3. Hiking
Your dog will love to hike with you along the Jenny Wilson Byrd Trail or on the walking trail at Green River Park & Arboretum in downtown Munfordville. Grab a picnic lunch at a nearby fast food or deli and enjoy it in one of the park’s picnic shelters or play a round of Disc Golf.
Mammoth Cave National Park also offers close to 100 miles of trails for dog friendly adventure!

4. Animal Adventures
Your best friend can make some new animal friends on their Hart County adventure! Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo welcomes friendly dogs on a leash to the park. There are two areas where your dog cannot go: the Outback (where there is direct contact with kangaroos) and the Land of the Lories (where there is direct contact with the birds). Dogs are welcome to go into the cave, but we ask that they are housebroken and go the bathroom before going into the cave.
Your friendly dog on a leash can also visit animals at Dutch Country Safari Park on the Hayride Safari and encounter area.

5. Shopping
You’ll find fun items for your pet at the American Cave Museum Gift Shop in downtown Horse Cave and the Munfordville Welcome Center in downtown Munfordville.
