With so many options to explore in Hart County, both above ground and literally underneath your feet, it’s no wonder that Munfordville and Horse Cave have been certified by the Kentucky Department of Tourism as Trail Towns.
A Trail Town as defined by Kentuckytourism.com is a destination along a long-distance trail or adjacent to an extensive trail system linking to other Trail Towns. This may include hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking water trails and, both mountain and on-road cycling trails. The Trail Town is usually a welcomed place to stop for food and provisions or to simply enjoy the scenery and charm of a local community and maybe even spend the day or the evening.
With the beauty and wonder of Mammoth Cave National Park right at our doorsteps and with the Green River and miles upon miles of Kentucky’s best hiking trails running through it along with its proximity to popular Kentucky cycling routes, Hart County provides the best Kentucky outdoor adventures like no other.
