History, Arts, & Culture

History in Hart County runs really deep. You can travel back to the beginnings of our cave system on a cave tour or a trip through the American Cave Museum. There you can also learn about the “Cave Wars” as the show cave owners fought for the tourism dollar. Check out the Horse Cave Stories Cell Phone Tour for the history of a town that grew on top of a cave.

You can walk where Civil War soldiers fought at the Battle for the Bridge Historic Preserve and hear tales of the occupation of the small town of Munfordville on the Old Munfordville Cell Phone Walking Tour. And don’t miss our quilt trail, free music jams, replica of Stonehenge and more!
